On May 22 Chabad of Richmond hosted another of its "Hello Bubby, Hello Zaidy" Senior's events.  Chabad Seniors were joined by students from the Richmond Jewish Day School for a class on flower arranging by Richmonod Continuing Education Instructor, Joan Aiello. Following the class, Ralph Blasbalg, Chabad Board Member, made the  official announcement of Chabad receiving the New Horizons for Senior grant from the Government of Canada. On hand was the Honourable Alice Wong, Minister of State for Seniors, who spoke on the special connection between generations that the grant will help fund through the "Hello Bubby, Hello Zaidy" program in the coming year. Rabbi Baitelman then spoke on the significance of the coming holiday of Shavuot and how the grant will allow  the growth of  the Senior Program. An excellent kosher lunch, prepared by Yael Sachar,  was served. After lunch the program ended with an exceptional classical performance by pianist Boris Konovalov to the delight of all in attendance.
