From The Lethbridge Community

The Lethbridge Jewish community is now over 100 years old. The new Beth Israel Synagogue was built in 1955, and proudly housed 4 torahs. No one remembers when or how the torahs came into Lethbridge's possession. Over the years the community slowly dwindled, as younger generations moved to the big city, and older matriarchs passed on. Due to this fact, just over 10 years ago, the decision was made to sell the synagogue building. More recently, we decided that we were no longer in need of 4 torahs. Through our association and friendship with Rabbi Baitelman, one of the torahs was donated to Chabad Richmond. Which brings us now to the official dedication of the Lethbridge Torah.
