Who we are

At Richmond Hebrew School, Jewish learning comes alive. We create a warm, inclusive space where every child—regardless of background—can explore their Jewish roots, build lasting friendships, and feel proud of who they are.

With our stimulating lessons in Hebrew language, Jewish history, holidays, and customs, children gain not only broad knowledge but also a deep understanding of how Judaism applies to their lives. We recognize each child’s unique abilities and tailor our teaching so every student can thrive. Our students develop an appreciation for the joys, values, and traditions of our heritage, and a deep love for the Land of Israel, through hands-on learning led by dedicated and enthusiastic teachers whose warmth and creativity make every lesson a unique experience. By year’s end, students not only read Hebrew with confidence, but also build a rich Hebrew vocabulary that connects language to heritage in a way that feels alive.

Our goal is simple: to make Judaism fun, engaging, and relevant. Along with Hebrew literacy, holiday knowledge, and Aleph-Bet mastery, your child will develop a deep love for our traditions—carrying Jewish pride into their everyday life.

Richmond Hebrew School is brought to you in partnership by Chabad Richmond and The Bayit.

Esther Wolf | Co-director

Esther was raised in the United Kingdom in a family where Jewish education was everything. From a young age, Esther volunteered in the community Hebrew School that her parents directed. Almost naturally, nurturing young students is her life’s mission and greatest joy. Esther likes to pique children's curiosity and encourage students to ask questions in a warm and non-judgmental environment. She believes Hebrew school should be fun and engaging, with students excited to return.

Fun fact: Esther plays guitar and loves bringing music into the classroom to make learning even more joyful.
